Panel seams instead of darts
Shape comes from seams running down the front and back rather than from gathering at the waist, which is why the A line keeps its line when the skirt hangs. The seams are visible and read as a design mark on a plain-coloured skirt.
Hidden zip down the side
The closure sits inside a side seam and is concealed, so neither front nor back carries hardware. Paired with the elastic back waistband it makes the skirt easy to get into with no visible fastening anywhere on the outside.
Below the knee, not at it
Midi here means the hem clears the knee by a margin, which is the length that works with boots through autumn and with flats the rest of the year. The faux suede carries a light stretch, so the skirt moves without the stiffness the fabric can have.
